Our two lead teachers are assisted by a team of three part-time Teaching Assistants, each covering 1-3 days per week as well as serving as substitutes when needed.
Though our classes are small, some of our kids require focused attention that can make it hard for a single teacher to support within a group. Our day also features multiple independent work sessions where teachers all rotate tutoring and assisting students 1:1. These will be your primary responsibilities, though we also invite you to contribute to the teaching and curriculum design if you are inspired to do so!
The ideal candidate brings a genuine love and understanding of kids, a desire to connect with them and see them succeed. Someone who actively enjoys the company and energy of 5-11 year olds. Hopefully you are also passionate about school and education--you believe it can and should be a rewarding space for learning and growth. Your ability and interest to help younger students with simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication) and play outdoor games with the class at recess is a big plus.
If you can demonstrate these traits, we don't care what degree you have.
Compensation for this role is $30/hr
